Chiliad Awarded $49.9 Million IDIQ Contract by
U.S. Air Force for Multi-Level, Secure Cross-Domain
Knowledge Fusion and Collaboration
Herndon, VA – (December 23, 2008) – Chiliad, Inc., the leader in distributed information sharing and knowledge fusion, today announced that it has been awarded an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for a maximum of $49.9 million by Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, N.Y.
The award, issued as an SBIR Phase III authorization, will provide a contracting vehicle to enable the U.S. Air Force and other U.S. government customers to acquire, integrate, deploy and support Chiliad’s Discovery/Alert™ software platform in a wide range of multi-agency real-time distributed information-sharing programs.
“This award is evidence that the U.S. government is directly addressing the challenge of next-generation distributed analysis across de-centralized ‘stove-pipe’ application repositories,” said Dan Ferranti, CEO, Chiliad. “Availability of this vehicle will accelerate the adoption of Chiliad’s software across multiple U.S. government agencies, “ Ferranti continued.
The SBIR will ensure that each agency has a contracting vehicle under which it can acquire a scalable implementation that is compatible with and in conformance to required standards, and recommendations. Among these standards and recommendations are the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) Information Sharing Environment (ISE), and the recommendations of the Markle Task Force on National Security in the Information Age. This Phase III SBIR initiative will also develop new pilots and operational systems for all-source, cross-domain peer-to-peer information sharing and real time situational awareness across multiple US government agencies.
