Dan
Ferranti – Chief Executive Officer
Dan Ferranti extends to Chiliad a
proven 27-year track record in both software and information technology
services. Prior to joining Chiliad, he led five separate early-stage technology
software and services companies through fast growth stages and on to successful
exits, including two companies in which he scaled annual revenue to more than
$400M each. Along the way, Dan has led the pursuit and capture of more than
$3.9 billion in new business, and has successfully executed eight other mergers
and acquisitions. Dan possesses extensive experience in enterprise application
software, engineering services and business process automation applied to
numerous vertical domains solutions, with particular emphasis in the Global 1000,
finance, healthcare, insurance, government, telecom and IT industries.
Immediately prior to Chiliad, Dan
led DolphinSearch, Inc. from an early-stage technology company to a successful
software products and ASP provider of search, electronic discovery, compliance,
lifecycle management and litigation support to the Fortune 1000, government and
legal markets. In July 2007, Dan engineered a successful merger of
DolphinSearch into a leading public technology company, and then assumed the
helm at Chiliad two days later.
Earlier, Dan was President and CEO
of Factor Software, an enterprise software company specializing in business
process automation. There, he achieved more than a 300 percent growth in sales.
As CEO of Majesco Software Inc. (now Mastech, Ltd.), Dan grew revenue from $19
million to $165 million run-rate, then drove a successful merger. Prior to Majesco,
Dan was a Vice President and General Manager of Perot Systems, and Chief Operating
Officer of NMI Management (sold to DynCorp, now CSC). Earlier in his career,
Dan held senior management positions at Cincinnati Bell Information Systems,
Datapoint, MCI Communications and U.S. Sprint.
Dan holds a B.S. degree in Industrial
Psychology from the Catholic University of America, and pursued his M.S. degree
in MIS/Telecommunications from George Washington University.

Paul
McOwen – Co-Founder
Paul McOwen leads Chiliad’s strategic
business development efforts in the government sector. In this role, Paul has led
engagements to extend the capabilities of the Chiliad Discovery platform with several
major U.S. government agencies to deliver critical information management
solutions These include the Investigative Data Warehouse, described by the FBI
as “the central database in
the FBI's information sharing approach in the post-9/11 world” and “one of the
most powerful data analysis tools available to law enforcement and
counterterrorism agents.”
Paul co-founded Chiliad in 1999.
Four years earlier, he co-founded Sovereign Hill Software where he served as
acting CEO during the company’s first profitable year, then as a corporate
vice-president until the company’s acquisition in 1999.
From 1987 to 1995, Paul served as
Associate Chairman and then Deputy Chairman of the Computer Science Department
at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. There, he played a key role in
establishing the National Science Foundation’s Center for Intelligent
Information Retrieval (CIIR). He served as Administrative Director of the CIIR
for its first four years, helping to secure more than $20 million in funding
from Fortune 500 corporations, the U.S. Government, and the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts.
Paul also served as Co-Founder,
Executive Director, and Board Member of the Applied Computing Systems Institute
of Massachusetts, a university-affiliated private research institute. And from
1982 to 1987, Paul was Founder and President of Amherst Computer Associates, a
software consulting company.
Paul received a B.S. in Education
and M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst
and pursued doctoral studies in Civil Engineering with a research focus on
intelligent information systems.
Robert
Cook – Co-Founder
Bob Cook is responsible for
technical management for the Chiliad technology portfolio and the Chiliad
product development team. Bob has nearly 25 years experience in the development
and implementation of intelligent information systems, including search, real-time
filtering, classification, entity recognition, artificial intelligence, natural
language processing, cross-lingual search, data fusion and federated search.
Bob has overseen
the development of the Chiliad technology portfolio and has also served as
chief architect for a number of high-visibility programs designed to exploit
structured and unstructured data across distributed, heterogeneous data
sources. Projects implemented under Bob's direction include the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Integrated Data
Warehouse and Terrorist Screening Center. As chief architect for these deployments, Bob worked closely with
several inter-agency groups, including the Proactive Data Exploitation Unit and
the Foreign Terrorism Task Force, to ensure optimum exploitation of available
data resources across organizational lines.
Prior to co-founding Chiliad in 1999,
Bob spent 10 years at the University Of Massachusetts Center for Intelligent
Information Retrieval (CIIR). As part of the CIIR research staff, Bob
investigated a wide range of information processing methodologies, and managed
the application and integration of the resulting technologies into a number of
commercial and government applications, including the Worldwide Customer
Support system for Lotus Development Corp., the Infoseek Internet search
engine, the Library of Congress Digital Library Initiative
for the Congressional Records and American Memory Collection, and various
Department of Defense and National Security Agency projects. Bob received the
prestigious “Hammer” award presented by then-Vice President Al Gore for his
development work on the U.S. Business Advisor.
Bob received a B.S. in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
David Logan – Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Dave Logan brings more than 30 years of financial and operations management experience to Chiliad.
Prior to joining Chiliad in 2008, Dave spent five years at US Investigations Services, where he most recently held the position of Vice President and Corporate Controller with responsibility for all aspects of accounting, compliance and external reporting during a period of rapid growth. Earlier at US Investigations Dave served as Vice President of Treasury Operations.
Before joining US Investigations Services, Dave co-founded Torque Corporation. Prior to co-founding Torque, Dave spent 15 years at Fisher Scientific Company, followed by three years at Fisher Technology Group, where he served as the divisional controller for a $90 million safety products division. Dave began his career at Deloitte and Touche where he was a senior auditor in the distribution, manufacturing, banking, construction and health care industries.
Dave is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.A. in Business Administration from Grove City College.
Bailey Spencer – Vice President, Sales
Bailey Spencer leads all of Chiliad’s sales activities. Prior to joining Chiliad, Bailey was Vice President and General Manager for Public Sector for Open Text, Inc., a leader in the enterprise content management market. Before joining Open Text, Bailey was Vice President of Enterprise Application Services at Unisys Corporation. From 1998 to 2003 Bailey served as Director, Federal Civilian and Homeland Security Sales for SAP Public Services, Inc. Bailey spent eight years on Capitol Hill in professional staff positions with the House Telecommunications and Finance subcommittee and the bipartisan New England Congressional Caucus.
Bailey earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration and was a Littauer Fellow at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and received a B.A. in Political Science from Colgate University.
Tracey Mustacchio – Vice President, Marketing
Tracey Mustacchio has almost 19 years of experience in marketing, business development and product management. Tracey is responsible for overseeing all of Chiliad's marketing and product management functions, including go-to-market strategy, public relations and lead generation. Prior to joining Chiliad, Tracey served as Vice President of Marketing for TraceSecurity, where she helped define and launch several new products and position the company as an innovator in the security compliance market.
Earlier in her career, Tracey held senior level marketing and product management positions at Secure Software (acquired by Fortify Software), McAfee, and Business Evolution (acquired by Kana), as well as operating her own strategic marketing consultancy, which specialized in providing marketing and product management consulting to high growth companies. At Business Evolution, Tracey positioned the company as a strategic eCRM provider and was instrumental in the company’s sale to Kana Communication for $140 million. During her tenure at McAfee, revenues grew from $25 million to more than $900 million, and Tracey led product marketing and product management for all product lines.
Tracey holds Math/Computer Science and Philosophy degrees from Virginia Wesleyan College, where she graduated as one of ten Wesleyan Scholars.
