Software Application & Integration Engineer

Software Application & Integration Engineers work closely with our customers and partners integrating Chiliad’s search, analysis and knowledge fusion products into customer applications and other software products and systems.

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (active TS or TS/SCI clearance required)

Requirements:

  • US Citizen with Active Top Secret or Top Secret / SCI clearance
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in Java development on distributed web/application environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience architecting and managing solutions for hundreds of machines, storage, virtualization and cloud computing especially with a search engine infrastructure
  • Development and integration experience with high performance search, analysis, indexing, and alerting software including open source software such as Lucene and Solr
  • Experience architecting and implementing caching frameworks and web application caching schemes
  • Experience with analysis and diagnosis of large-scale infrastructure for networking and I/O bottlenecks
  • Strong experience in J2EE and Internet technologies including Web Services, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), SOA, REST, SOAP, AJAX, JMX, JMS, Java Servlets, Flex, Flash, HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript and other web-based frameworks (e.g. JQuery, DoJo, Stripes, Struts, YUI)
  • Experience in understanding, designing and implementing security solutions inside and across secure networks including federated LDAP, PKI, Kerberos
  • Experience in Access Control (DAC), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), AGDLP, Federated Identity Management
  • Experience designing and implementing Java Security Technologies including Java Cryptography Extensions (JCE) Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS), and Java Secure Socket Extension (JSSE)
  • Experience using and implementing security standards such as eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML), Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), WS-Federation
  • Experience using and implementing single sign-on solutions
  • Experience as team lead for integration and O&M
  • Experience interacting with various user groups at customer sites to understand their requirements and provide relevant solutions by coordinating with core development
  • Project managementexperience
  • Experience integrating software packages into existing systems
  • In-depth understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance
  • Knowledge of object design and analysis, socket programming, file I/O, multi-threaded code debugging
  • Strong programming background in Windows, Linux and Solaris environment
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Python, Awk/Sed, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience with multiple application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere)
  • Able to self-manage
  • Willingness for some regional travel, possible national or international travel
  • Database and SQL experience with systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL,Apache Derby

  • Current Background Investigation with DHS/CBP

SENIOR SYSTEMS Engineer

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (active Top Secret or Top Secret / SCI clearance required)

Responsibilities:

  • Systems engineering, systems architecting, and system administration in a Unix and Windows environment
  • System security to include security lock downs, managing users, C&A, access control  
  • Acquire detailed working knowledge of Chiliad products and how they are utilized in varying operating system environments and hardware and network architectures
  • Provide first and second line technical support to Chiliad customers and clients
  • Provide software evaluation support to partners and system integrators
  • Perform set up and maintenance of product test environments
  • Assist in development and maintenance of a customer support web site
  • Perform problem replication and product log analysis to quickly isolate bugs or provide effective operational workarounds to clients
  • Support installation and testing of new product releases
  • Ensure service level agreements are met and problem issues are properly directed and escalated as needed
  • Manage problem assignments according to priority and schedules.
  • Work closely with other technical team members to manage/resolve open customer issues in timely manner
  • Contribute to corporate knowledge sharing by developing/accumulating knowledge-base articles for both internal and external parties and provide ad-hoc internal training to staff on new developments relating to the product or development environment
  • Support for integration of government and commercial software with Chiliad’s distributed search, analysis, concept recognition, indexing, and alerting software, and testing of integrated solutions
  • Work with customer subject matter experts to understand the data underlying customer applications and then map that data to the Chiliad platform

Requirements:

  • US citizen with active Top Secret or Top Secret / SCI clearance
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years systems engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer focus
  • System Administration proficiency in Unix and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Unix scripting languages: bash, sed, awk, shell, etc
  • Experience installing, configuring and operating software packages in both Windows and UNIX environments, including Web applications, Tomcat, Apache, SSL, Certificates
  • Working knowledge of server configuration, NFS Configuration, LDAP configuration and performance tuning
  • Working knowledge of network troubleshooting (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, server ports, switches/routers, firewalls)
  • Experience with analysis and diagnosis of large-scale infrastructure for networking and I/O bottlenecks
  • Experience in understanding, designing and implementing security solutions inside and across secure networks including federated LDAP, PKI, Kerberos
  • Extensive experience with SQL, Oracle, and other RDBMSs including schema analysis, analysis of customer applications, optimizing ways to extract relevant data,  understanding the performance/load implications on the database
  • Experience with HTML and XML.
  • Experience with Extraction/Translation/Load (ETL) processes and Data Warehouse concepts
  • Experience with search engines and entity extractors
  • Experience writing documentation of complex technical systems and with providing technical support for sales presentations
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: Java, C++, or .NET
  • Understanding of end-to-end installation and configuration of 3rd party environments
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Team lead experience and/or project management experience
  • Experience architecting and managing solutions for hundreds of machines, storage, virtualization and cloud computing especially with a search engine infrastructure

  • Experience using and implementing single sign-on solutions
