Distributed Search
Chiliad Discovery/Alert™ searches all information sources simultaneously. Using its uniquely patented peer-to-peer architecture, it seamlessly connects together all types of data everywhere, both structured and unstructured, into a single virtual knowledge system. Robust and intuitive query tools provide users a rich environment to truly “connect all the dots™”, while the distributed architecture guarantees high performance, massive scalability combined with high recall and precision regardless of how large and disparate the data sources become, and without disruption of existing systems.
Real-Time Analysis
Chiliad Discovery/Alert™ performs sophisticated on-the-fly analysis at the document and sub-document level so as to mine all textual content for concepts, using the user’s natural language query as a context to focus the analysis. In contrast, most alternative search and concept mining products identify concepts in text only at indexing time, and many rely on static or pre-built concept maps.
Concept & Entity Extraction
Chiliad Discovery/Alert™ analyzes the content of each relevant section of each retrieved source to identify the part of speech of each term and to identify important phrases, concepts and metadata. The list of extracted and tagged concepts includes people, places, organizations, dates, account numbers, and dozens of other entities. Users can extend the list of concept “recognizers” at any time.
Knowledge Discovery
The concepts yielded by dynamic concept analysis can be used to construct a hierarchical “knowledge map” that users can browse and explore. This conceptual navigation is not only extremely efficient for finding information about a specific topic, but also leads to the ultimate objective of knowledge discovery—uncovering previously unknown connections and associations. As users refine and sharpen their focus during a query session, "Discover Knowledge" creates a dynamic knowledge map for the user at each step, allowing users to navigate the knowledge space.

Non-disruptive
Chiliad works seamlessly with all your existing IT infrastructure, application and information systems. It is application independent and does not replace, disrupt, or compete with them. Chiliad extracts a knowledge whole that exceeds the sum of all the information parts.
Massive Scalability

No data replication
Unlike other systems, Chiliad does not ingest, replicate, copy or pass around data. To do so would add huge network costs, as well as IT, data processing and security costs - not to mention seriously denegrated performance, responsiveness and accuracy. Instead, Chiliad distributes "agents" that talk to each other and efficiently share precisele and only the collective knowledge that is required. Chiliad provides only the answer without passing around extraneous volumes of data.
Peer-to-Peer Architecture
Chiliad’s cooperative peer-to-peer processing architecture allows organizations to distribute instances of the search, indexing and analysis engine in a network of cooperating nodes across local or remote distributed networks. Each instance of the engine on any operating system and hardware platform is an intelligent node among a network of cooperating nodes. Each node may serve as a federator, handling query interaction with a user, and as a provider, executing search requests. Faceted Navigation
Discovery/Alert™ Faceted Navigation provides the ability to rapidly “slice and dice” documents and other records based on metadata from structured databases or extracted from unstructured documents.
For example, a manager searching a database of resumes for candidates to staff a project might start her search by retrieving all of the Java programmers in the system.
